Hypnosis becoming more accepted!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

A couple of weeks ago in my local newspaper I came across almost a full page article about hypnosis. This article was written by Jane E. Brody of The New York Times.

I think that she did a very good job of portraying hypnosis realistically. She starts off with the experience of her husband who wanted to stop smoking and went to a hypnotist after being unable to quit on his own. He did not think he was hypnotized, yet he has not had to smoke in fourteen years.

She attempts, I think, successfully to clear up some misunderstandings about hypnosis. She has interviewed a number of hypnotists including Dr. Brian Alman who states that “The power of hypnosis resides in the patient and not in the doctor.” In other words if I think that hypnosis will not work at all going in, I am probably correct. If I am open or very positive then it probably will work for me  even if I do not think that I was hypnotized like the authors husband.

The author also talks about some of the uses in medical and dental settings. How hypnosis can be used for pain control and other medical situations. How it can help to eliminate long standing fears and how to change or remove unwanted habits.

Overall I think that she did a very good job of helping people in the general readership population to  get a better understanding of what hypnosis can do for each and every one of us. Well done Jane! Thanks for helping to spread the good word.

Learn Self Hypnosis

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Right now I am a bit excited. I have finally gotten something that I can offer my readers and others that are directed to this new site, Learn Self Hypnosis.

At this new site I am offering a package that includes a full MP3 audio session for learning Self Hypnosis. Also a PDF file that gives background on self hypnosis with an explanation of the process AND the full text of the session.

In addition part of the bonus package is two more MP3 audios. These can be used so that you can record your own process section and sandwich it between the “induction” and “exit” MP3’s for your own personalized session.

Go check it out at the link above and let me know what your reaction to this program is.

Hypnosis and Dentistry

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

The other day I was listening to the radio when I heard an ad for a local dentist. The pitch was that he was the Sedating Dentist. Make an appointment with him, get drugs to take prior to going to him for your procedure so that you do not suffer any pain.

I figure that the drug salespeople got to him.

I do not need pain meds for dental work! I use self hypnosis prior to going in for what ever needs done to prepare my body for the upcoming event. The pain is optional!

I choose no pain AND no drugs. The Novacaine during the procedure is quite adequate. Many dentists want to give scripts for painkillers for when the Novacaine wears off. My experience after major work (extractions and the like) is no pain due to having prepared my body/face for the event before hand. My body does not resist the invasion, so there is no trauma that is present after the event.

Self Hypnosis works quite well and there are no toxic side effects either. Learn Self Hypnosis and live better.

On my articles page I have a couple of articles about pain control, check them out.
